Shelby Davis, MSW, LISW-S
Founder & licensed clinician (She/Her/Hers)
Hey! I'm Shelby Davis, and I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Supervisor designation (LISW-S) in the state of Ohio and Kentucky with over 8 years of experience working in the social service field. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degree from Northern Kentucky University where I micro-credentialed in trauma informed care and I have experience in helping people work through life transitions and general mental wellness concerns.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where you feel truly heard and understood. Whether we meet in person, virtually or outdoors for a walk in the park, I'm here to help you re-discover your strengths and overcome life's challenges.
If you're ready to take the next step, I'm here to support you. Let's connect and start your journey to prosperity.
Finding the right therapist can feel like a never-ending quest!
Finding the right therapist can feel like a never-ending quest! It's like dating, but instead of swiping right, you're looking for someone who gets you and your vibe. Don’t worry, though—take your time, trust the process, and you'll find the perfect match for your mental health journey!
You want someone who truly understands you and supports you and I want to help you get acquainted with me and the space you're entering if we choose to walk on this journey together!
Often, we think there's a set of rules for life, but the truth is, there isn't, and life is different for each person. While working with me, I want you to feel supported on this journey—you're not alone. At the end of the day, we're all just humans trying to navigate the hand we've been dealt. Remember, there is a plan for you—a plan to prosper you and not harm you, a plan to give you hope and a future. Together, we can make that a winning hand. ✨
I'm here for you. ✨
Here, you won't find a typical clinical setting. Feel free to bring a blanket or a snack, get cozy the couch, and be yourself. Dress comfortably and in whatever makes you comfortable—I often wear jeans or a t-shirt, let's keep things casual and authentic. ✨
I also create a relaxed and open environment where you can feel at ease while exploring your thoughts and emotions. I believe in your ability for self-healing and growth, and my modern, relatable approach ensures that our sessions feel more like a conversation with a friend rather than the stereotypical therapy sessions you see on TV. You deserve to be heard🗣️, and I’m here to support you every step of the way, judgment free.
I use a diverse approach in this process that is person-centered and includes:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps people resolve present-day challenges and the goal is to help people identify, challenge, and change maladaptive thought patterns in order to live their best life!
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT):
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a modified type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Its main goals are to teach people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT):
Solution focused brief therapy is goal oriented and concentrates on finding solutions in the present and exploring a person's hope for the future. In this approach we work to recognize what is working for you, help you explore how best to continue practicing those strategies, and encourage you to acknowledge and celebrate success.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT):
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) encourages people to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them. it encourages you focus on what aligns with your values, even when things get tough. It's about accepting what's out of your control and committing to making meaningful change where you can.
People that I work with understand that their journey and our sessions do not come with a crystal ball and things don't magically get better overnight. Even when the work is hard, they're committed to doing it because they know that things have to change. 💪🏽
Change takes time. ⌚
I can't do the work for you, but I will walk beside you every step of the way.
Am I accepting new clients?
I'm currently accepting new clients and offer individual therapy services for ages 14 and up.
Please note that I only provide individual therapy and can refer you to local clinicians for couples, group, or family therapy if needed. Thank you for considering our services. 🙏🏽

When I'm not busy, you can catch me hanging out with my family and snuggling with my cute Yorki-poodle pup, Penny! I'm all about DIY projects and binge-watching home renovation and reality TV shows. Fixer upper and The Braxton Family Values is my absolute fave, but I also can't get enough of the POWER series - 50 cent did his big one with those! Oh, and my favorite color is purple, and I love to read and do word searches. Hit me up with any questions, I'm always down for a good chat!
